Subacromial Pain Syndromes – Lecture 26th November

The lecture looks to discuss current evidence for the treatment of subacromial pain syndromes, including impingement, tendinopathy and rotator cuff tears. What rehabilitation programmes have been shown to be effective and what surgeries are available?

Presenters:

Dr Tania Pizzari –  lecturer and researcher at La Trobe University. Her research interests include the rehabilitation for shoulder instability, EMG of the shoulder. Tania regularly presents lectures on shoulder management on behalf of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is a member of the Shoulder and Elbow Physiotherapists of Australiasia.  She is an adjunct senior research fellow in the Australian Centre for Research into Injury in Sport and its Prevention.

Mr Tom Treseder – is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital. He has subspecialty training in upper limb orthopaedics. His post fellowship training included fellowships in the United Kingdom and France with upper limb arthroscopy surgeon Mr Philippe Collin. He is a lecturer at the University of Melbourne medical school in the areas of upper limb orthopaedics and the management of arthritis.
